Description The dolls march on
a wretched pawn
marked by dying song.

The ticking clock
and killers knock
hastening their end.

An effigy
for all to see
a message to descend

Forced it seems
from their dreams
into a world pretend,

where living free
is fantasy
for they may not contend.

Now bound by chains
for others gains
the dolls march on
a wretched pawn
marked by dying song.

Their resistance quelled,
their hope dissuaded,
their love is felled,
and life uncomplicated.
So now they merely give and fade,
or dig a grave with dreaming spade.

Remembering what once was new,
the world rains its tears of blue,
and the dolls march on,
a wretched pawn,
marked by dying song.

This poem is exceeds all expectations I would have for a poet. It uses great technique, vision, originality, and has a lot of creativity. This piece of literature makes you hungry for more. I was immediately hooked as soon as I read the first couple of lines. It’s a sad poem but it’s not like others. It has a wonderful use of words and great flow. The author had a vision in their head and executed it very well. As I, the reader, was reading it, I felt it very relatable and could see many different views and ideas on this piece. Good work, I look forward to reading more.
