Yes, Dixie was planed, but in the last minute, she was cut out.

I would think it would be a reference to Banjo-Kazooie, but that doesn't make sense, seeing as Banjo-Kazooie came after Donkey Kong Country 2...

Naw, the Jiggy was just something I added. It was always a Rareware logo before. Now I don't know what it is.

K. Rool and his Krew were Rare creations and they've been sold to Microsoft. From what I know, Nintendo didn't get the rights to use the Kremlins yet. Which is why Donkey Kong and his own crew got pegged down to Party/Sports games.
