Knuckles is said to be the last Echidna of his kind of an ancient clan system that once existed hundreds of years ago. The last of the Knuckles clan, so named for their knuckle spikes that grow, he takes up the namesake and watches the Master Emerald on the floating Angel Island. The power of the Master Emerald keeps the isle in the air, only dropping if the Emerald was removed; even though there are pedestals to hold the Chaos Emeralds upon, they have been absent for a very long time after invaders tampered with the shrine.

While the isle is constantly moving and very hard to track, the movement in technology allowed Angel Island to be accessed if briefly. As explorers landed on the culture-filled isle, Knuckles was quick to catch them and threaten them with their lives to leave the island. Despite Knuckles's initial rage at the time, he was very quickly convinced to let them explore without tampering anything. Knuckles didn't let the people go anywhere near where the Master Emerald shrine was but despite this, one was too curious for their own good. Upon sneaking away and discovering it, they tried to take the Chaos Emeralds; however, upon touching one, they scattered across the globe and haven't been seen since.

This was over a year ago and now, Knuckles drifts along with his island, rarely leaving it as he searches for the missing Chaos Emeralds. Ever since then, the government developed a vast amount of new technologies using pseudo-emerald shards with the knowledge they gained from the isle. Knuckles no longer lets anybody on his island, despite how naive he is when it comes to what people tell him.

Knuckles is known for his immense natural strength and martial arts which originated with his original clan. His knuckles prove to be excellent weapons in combat while he can use them for climbing vertical surfaces; from there, he can glide through the air by catching the wind under his dreads.

Right, so...yeah! Knuckles. He's quite a lanky looking fellow due to the low gravity he he grown up with, this also makes him very light which enables him to glide.

The markings on his face are tribal paint while the mark on his chest is still the pure birthmark like Sega intended it to be. Clothes are to look tribal while he keeps his original shoes! With metal plates on the front, of course.
