“Hey Dragon?” Rion glanced at me, his deep chocolatey brown eyes full of puzzlement as he furrowed his eyebrows.
“What?”
“I was wondering…. how do you sleep with wings?” I blinked in surprise; this out of all things is what he wanted to ask me?
I hesitated for a moment, deciding what I should say as I tried not to stare into his beautiful eyes before replying curtly, “I don’t.”
I crossed my legs and stretching my wings out slightly in the fading firelight while seeming trying to seem completely disinterested in his question. When I peeked a look at him out of the corner of my eye, his expression was skeptical, raising one eyebrow in disbelief.
“Right. You don’t sleep. Ever.”
“Nope.”
Silence passed for a moment before Rion stood up slowly, raising his arms up behind his head while letting out a small yawn. He waited a few moments, keeping the silence, and casually let his arms go limp, dangling by his side,” Okay then. I guess you get to be on watch all night.” his voice sounded mocking and I saw a smirk light up his face.
I lept up to face him and felt the sudden urge to do something drastic, like slapping him, but instead I placed my hands firmly on my hips and stared right into his eyes.
“Maybe I do sleep. Why do you care?” I saw his smile widen and a small wisp of his ruffled hair fell into his deep brown eyes.
And suddenly I felt his lips on mine.
My eyes widened in surprise, a warm blush rising onto my cheeks. My heart thudded violently in my chest and I wondered how he couldn’t hear it. His lips were warm against mine, strands of his dark hair fluttered across my face as he kissed me. I verily held my breath as I was lost in another world, his world. I didn’t know what to do but stand there and let him kiss me.
Suddenly he pulled away from me, a small breath escaping me. He pushed a bit of my sky blue hair out of my face and smiled gently before leaning in closely and whispering in my ear, “I will always care,”
Then he was gone.

Just the sight of him was enough to send my heart skyward after that. I sometimes got amused expression out of Deirdre when she caught me staring after him as we walked, She would smirk devilishly and tuck her white hair behind her ear giving me a small wink, which of course caused me to blush furiously as I scowled at her.
