i said this almost a year ago when i was straight and cis but im actually panromantic and non binary now
yes straight people are recognized and accepted by media and general society and anything else is not in most places
so yeah straight people can call themselves straight in public and nobody will think anything but anything else is apparently awful and gross
straight pride is not really needed as it is presented everywhere already tbh

i was commenting on a poll once asking if you were homosexual or not i said i'm not homosexual and then some girl started writing a speech about how straights are disgusting and deserve to rot because apparently everybody hates homosexuals? which i find untrue as most people support gay rights.

saying straight pride is needed is like saying that people who are not straight are "not really oppressed" and are "just whining"
straight pride is already shown every day in the world around us anyway, it's apparently obscene to see two girls holding hands but a boy and a girl? nah that's fine. nobody has ever been killed for being straight and people are still killed today for being gay. and the only thing straight people have to deal with is "people on the internet might be annoying" but others have to worry about "will i lose friends, will i get yelled at, will i get kicked out of the house, will i be able to marry and adopt a kid, will i get beat up for holding my partner's hand, etc"
so no, straight pride is not needed as it is already present.

i'll respect your voice, maybe it might not be needed but to me it seems someday it will be needed if people act as if heterosexuals are disgusting. here's some quotes the girl sent me,

a lot of people are pretty sweet about homosexuals though, i think it's just the adults in this generation who don't like it because they didn't grow up with it. once they all die out it shouldnt be too much of a problem anymore, there will always be some people here and there who disagree with it but we can't force them to support gays. it's a lot more common to see gays though so people are starting to accept it and move on,Β there was a tumblr post where someone was babysitting a boy and the boy asked the babysitter (who is a girl) if she had a boyfriend, she said she had a girlfriend and then the boy just completely understood without saying anything and then asked if she wanted to propose to her girlfriend, it was pretty sweet tbh.
