I'm starting a new direction of auto-art with this piece: Part hand-drawn, part photo (lenses). It's of a friend's Scion xB, which he's messed with and made into a baby-Benz...pretty tyte huh? Anyways, I started with a sketched up outline with the exaggerated proportions (although the real cars look like cartoons anyways!), scanned it in, and then went all computer from there. Illustrator and Photoshop. Done. It took a little bit longer than by hand, about 9 hours in total, but I'm stoked on the outcome. Peep the carbon fiber inserts on the pillars!

Ok, so here's how it typically goes...

A hip lil momma walks past the shiny blue box car, catches a glance of the emblems and wheels and stops while thinking to herself, "Wow, that is a sweet little Benz, I had no idea they made something like that! I have to get one."

And a 20-something college student walks by the rolling billboard box car, sees the ballin-outta-control 18" Volk GT-7s with the polished lip and stops while thinking to himself, "That thing is clownin hard!! But the Mercedes emblems?! Get a life!"

And so it goes, and so it goes...love em or hate em, the "Brave Little Toaster" cars are here to stay!!
