UPDATE: I was so pressed for time that I forgot to add in the spotlights! Guess it's not too noticeable lol.

Anyway, I suppose this started when I wanted to get more discipline in my art and start a project with a deadline. Finding out the unfortunate end of the Spongebob musical was near, I wanted to make something to sort of see it off....and man, did I bite off more than I could chew. Firstly, I originally thought the closing date was the 19th when it was actually 3 days earlier, so I was working for hours on end on this. It was pretty stressful trying to figure out what kind of lighting worked the best, the quickest methods of coloring, all while not having much time left. I wanted to submit it at least by 11:59PM on the east coast, and that's the EXACT MINUTE it got uploaded. I guess, I had something to prove to myself too, not unlike the character in the center of the picture. I guess that's why I like this scene so much, aside from its ASTOUNDING talent. Squidward was able to prove to himself, and the audience, and Broadway, that he certainly wasn't talented....even if Bikini Bottom didn't see it.

The more I worked on this, the more I was particularly appreciative of all of the detail put into this. The background, the beautiful surfboards, the flashy costumes. I had to simplify a lot of it just to get it done in time, also to make it look like a 2D animated screencaps, where details are often omitted. The anemonies even had these Muppet-like eyes on their hands AND feet.I still made sure that this picture had plenty of life to it. I hope you all like it as much as I do.
