I was feeling low and this came out as an attempt to actually make some gloomy art. For some reason I don't seem to be very good at it, but I finally had an idea. I'm sure this has been done before but I wanted to do my take on it.

It really changed since the original sketch. For some reason I tried my hardest so it wouldn't look like one of the humans in Gubmy...for some reason that's what my style starts too look like if I'm not careful. XP The person started out in my mind to look very tired and almost sick from the rain, but something else just happened when I changed the hair and gave her a characteristic beauty mark. It started to look a little bit more hopless-romantic, because that's, guiltily, what I always seem to lean towards. I guess the thing about sadness, gloom, and loneliness, is that it is a tragic thing that you should help people through, but it can also be a thing of beauty. I don't mean to disregard feelings, but sometimes when I feel alone, taking a walk in the rain, I actually find comfort in the fact how much everything comes together to form this perfect gloomy aesthetic. I also feel that, somehow, the beauty in gloom appeals to the heart more as well.

For some reason it struck me as sort of a noir, French-ish atmosphere, so I started to listen to some French music. Eventually, like it or not, all the more rugged, grizzly gloom started to fade away. I also tried to add in a background this time, though I'm not very good at it. Nothing too distracting though, as I want the focus on the character. Hope all of this doesn't make me look like a sap.
