Description A pod of Eurhinosaurus are suddenly alerted by the appearance of a pliosaur above them. After spotting the marine reptile, it's unlikely that the pod will stay to find out wherther it's friend or foe.
Eurhinosaurus ("well-nosed lizard") Is a genus of ichthyosaurs that was widely distributed across what today is Europe in the early Jurassic period. Its most notable feature was a very long upper jaw fitted with many small teeth along its edges. This looks similar to today's billfish and to some extinct cetaceans, and it's speculated that the animal was basically a billfish analog within its ecosystem. It also featured a very wide posterior skull, possibly giving it stereoscopical vision which would have helped in using its large rostrum as a hunting weapon. It measured about 6 metres in length.
I've always been fascinated by this weird creature ever since I learned from its existence back when I was a kid. So when I couldn't come up with a decent Sauropelta I tried to draw one of these to change pace and... I really like how it all ended up. I also had to rework the skull a little after it was noted that the skull of the animal is very weird, it basically looks like a reptilian mosquito from the front.
