Eons before the Multiverse was a thing, there was a plane of Light and Darkness, forever clashing, while few remained neutral, at the center. The Goddesses spearheading this war were Palutena, Goddess of Light, and Medusa, Goddess of Darkness, and you'd think that the people of this reality would just go to the Afterlife when they die, but reality worked differently back then, the race that dominated this reality had different Hearts, ones that would scatter across reality for eons after death, until finally reincarnating, with no memories of your past life. If that's not sad enough, the Goddesses finally managed to work together...when the Titans of Light and Darkness, Galeem and Dharkon, threatened all of existence with THEIR war. The Goddesses managed to stop the two, but the battle was so great and powerful, that it DESTROYED REALITY! Only the Goddesses survived, as everyone else perished and they went through the previously-mentioned reincarnation process. Palutena realized the cost of this war, and suppressed the memories, vowing to be a better ruler, while Medusa simply decided to never speak of it again. With the death of this first world, the Multiverse was born, with worlds being created over eons of history, with the neutral place becoming Vorton, but the destruction of the Titans opened a rift in reality, out of which leaked the Dark realm of Makai, which became part of a really f-cked up life cycle for worlds. The Titans' destruction also resulted in the two being completely wiped from physical reality. They exist only in corruption now...
