The expression on the face, blood or no, remains ambiguous. His eye could project cruelty or sorrow, but certainly not apathy. I love your use of lines and that you only revealed a portion of his face.

Oh, very creepy. Good idea to use an old man and blood. Its a concept i dont recall ever seeing before. Even the eyes look somehow cruel when splattered like this.
