I like it becose you have a totaly diferent and more artistic aproach to 3d art than other people. You don't bother with the realistic look or anatomicly correct form, instead you emphasize the caracter

thanks

I think one of the important problems in big Hollywood movies these days is that they concentrate too much on details and forget to work on the story... and there are cases in which using a reduced representation (idea, character, setting) can have a bigger impact than all the over-the-top effects you can ever put into that scene

this trend in the movie industry creates a (young) public that is addicted to form over substance and artists themselves get hooked up in this "industry" - and you get a lot of concept artists that only create VERY DETAILED monsters and aliens
anyway I'm not saying it's all bad, it's just that sometimes you find waaaay too much of this in movies that are otherwise pretty common or really bad

(I'm sorry abou the spelling) Yes I strongly agree with you and I have noticed same problems in the art today conected to industry. I think that the cause for this is the peoples poore knowlege of art and so they are fascinated by sometimes to much detail and information and not so much by meaning of message. Im sometimes happy that I live in a small country (2 mil people) where academic art is not influenced by industry (but we have diferent problems with art. My point is that wih 3d software you don't have to work as everyone else and sculpt orcs (althow it is fun)but you can be as free as in any other type of art.

well the actual rhino was made in zbrush with 2.5D sculpting/painting
then I selected the rhino as a separate layer and in photoshop I just added some gradients behind it and a shadow of the same layer on the lower part of the picture (it's actually a blurred copy of the rhino layer)

really not much to it once you have the rhino
I think I'll post a tutorial of this when I have some time because a few people have asked this

I've been trying a few different methods of sculpting and I really like how the two turned out
I'm guessing I'll keep doing stuff like this

I think it's good to have a variety.
One art piece of art can please some people while other styles can be apreciated by others.
People have different likes.

Nice work though!

actually it's a voronoy in 3d, and probably a power diagram in projection - but I'm not sure about it

what the hell am I saying
I gotta get some sleep

it's almost a power diagram (spheres), it would be voronoy if I used cones
