yyou know, after about 100 million years, earth will leave the habitable zone of the sun and become another barren planet, due to the sun's expansion.
5 billion years is when the sun is so big that it expands beyond earth's orbit and earth gets destroyed.

Yes a meteor is depressing but it's allways a new chance for smaller groups and new ideas.
