Ohh what a spectacular photo! I love how curved she is, most humpbacks who breach just go up.. and then sorta flop down XD This one's going round all the way, truly amazing and how awesome you got it on photo!

Thank you! It was an amazing day! Baby was breaching and I was photographing it and then someone yelled, I swung around eye still up to the camera and just got her in frame. This is uncropped. It was crazy lucky.

Ahhh, always so cool when thing just come together like that! It's really an amazing picture I had a similar experience in Kenya - the whale tourism is rather underdeveloped there, and the whales are pretty shy (we were really there for the dolphins). But a small group of humpbacks swum by in the distance and just as I looked through the camera's viewfinder this whale breached. It was the only breach we saw during all of the trip, so that was really lucky! Still, it wasn't nearly as close as your picture, but still awesome to see

I recognize that backdrop! That's the southern slope of the West Maui Mountains. I really miss Hawaii.
