I got her during my J.R.R. Tolkien phase and her name is actually Alfirin which is Elvish for "Golden Flower"... Looking back it makes me feel like a bit of a dork, but at the time I thought it was fun

Never read LoTR, since I write fantasy myself and don't want to be influenced. But I named my Dingo in a similar way, from a language I've invented; her name was ArΓ΄na, which means Sunfax (Sunfur), because Dingos have this wonderful sunset-colored fur
Golden Flower would mean Galladvala. Hmm, I'll have to write this down...

Awesome! Yeah, Ali was a lot lighter as a puppy but she's darkened as she's gotten older. Not so much a "golden" flower now.
