Description So a while ago I had an idea of a world where dragons have always existed in our world but became domesticated and are now kept as pets in our modern world. I decided to dive into that story more, so here's how it all started.

Back in the Middle Ages in England, a knight named Sir Antonius set out to slay a dragon (as most knights do). He found the dragon (a breed known as a Crimson Bloodletter) and the two fought in a vicious battle, where Antonius was the victor. When the dragon lay dead, Antonius noticed a nest in the corner. He went to take a closer look, and discovered three eggs; the dragon he killed was a mother.

Any other night would've destroyed the eggs to prevent more dragons, but Antonius felt nothing but guilt. He decided to stay in the cave until the eggs hatched. When they did, they instantly bonded with Sir Antonius (because he was the only one around when they were born), and he names the three of them Warwick, Barnaby and Matilda. He knew he would have to go back to his kingdom or else they would announce him dead, but he couldn't leave the three babies. So he decided to bring the babies with them in hopes he could convince his fellow knights they were not evil.

When Antonius came back, he was hailed as a hero (Crimson Bloodletters were a very dangerous breed of dragon and hard to kill), but they reacted with fear and horror when they saw he had three babies. The other knights were ordered to kill the babies, but Antonius pleaded with the king to spare the babies's lives. After much reluctance, Antonius was allowed to keep them after he proved they wouldn't be dangerous.

Everyone in the kingdom became used to the three babies and ended up loving them. Dragons were still seen as an enemy, but the three were considered an exception. Once the three babies grew into adulthood, they had grown too huge to stay, and to Antonius's sadness, the three of them unexpectedly flew away.

Antonius fell into a deep depression with his dragons gone, and the whole kingdom missed them as well. One day, to Antonius's surprise, Warwick, Baranby and Matilda returned, and they brought mates with them. Shortly after, they all had eggs of their own. Each of the knights were given their own baby dragon to keep, and when their babies grew into adulthood, they all flew away and came back with their own mates and laid their own eggs.

Eventually, this kingdom became known as the kingdom that tamed the Crimson Bloodletter. Other kingdoms became fascinated with this concept, and successfully started taming other breeds of dragons. Eventually dragons were no longer seen as an enemy, but as a loyal pet. Fast-forward to modern times, and dragons are still seen as loving pets.

Sir Antonius was dubbed Sir Antonius the Dragon-Hearted, and is known by history as the Father of Dragons.
