Lehnsherr. It means "feudal lord" in Old German. A loose etymology (origin) of the word: Lehn - sherr / Feud - lord / Vassal - lord. Basically a medieval "boss" who "owned" fields and shit, and was renting it to his vassals aka people who were bound by contract to him, aka semi-slaves. You could only free yourself (out of any kind of vassalry) if you ran away. If you managed to stay free and uncaught for a whole year, you became a free man BY LAW. In the middle ages, almost no one was a free man. The what-would-be-nowadays-called working class (aka skilled or unskilled manual workers) were always bound by contract to somebody. They were never free, unless they ran away or collected enough money to buy themselves out of the vassalry (which almost never happened). But the feudal lord aka "Lehnsherr" was not free either. It was typically a knight who was given a small portion of a land by the kind to whom he was bound by his oath. The oath was: "If a war happens and the king needs you to fight for him and lay your life for him, you´ll do it. In exchange, you will be given your own small castle, estate, and workers who were born in the estate. They all belong to you as slaves now. They will give you a portion of their crop and you will protect them in exchange. By protecting them, you protect YOUR OWN interest, cuz if you lose them, you will have no one to work for you. But if you refuse to serve me, your king, I will take away all your property and everything you were given, and you will get either assassinated, become a renegade, or you will simply have to work just like your vassals, as I will strip you of your title, honors and everything that was dear to you." Usually, feudal lords were STILL tough as shit. Don´t you even think that this name was given to Erik Lehnsherr by accident. BTW, Francis Xavier was a rich Spanish monk who was known for providing asylum for political/religious/other refugees in his family´s house. Charles´ whole name is Charles Francis Xavier. Again, coincidence? I think not
