Thanks, I went out on a limb with the energy coming off, wasn't sure if it would work, thought the white and black might give a nice yin yang feeling though

I have had a go off most things, but at the moment I mainly focus on tai chi (yang style for the last 8 years or so) and I started and fell instantly in love with german longsword last year, so just those really, how about yourself?

I mainly practice baguazhang, xinyiba (the ancestor of xingyi quan) but also some yang style taiji (zheng manqing lineage). I was lucky enough to train in china for a few years
so cool to find other people who like internal kung fu, here on deviantart! I hope to see more of your martial art masters portraits !

Aikido's on my list as well, I'll have to try it out one day! Sun style's very interesting too
don't worry about your chinese, you're just using the wade-giles romanization (which is a bit older, but correct!) while I tend to write in hanyu pinyin (the chinese use it for keyboard writing most of the time)
zheng manqing's taiji is in my opinion one of the softest styles there is, great for tuishou too!

My own teacher loves him as well, cheng has a very interesting style to watch, it seems as though he got to the point that the form didn't really matter anymore, just the expression of energy through it, he is great fun to watch sparring with a sword too. I don't know if you have ever seen the videos of him sparring or fighting with someone, he moves like a boxer which is interesting to me.

I agree, in advanced stages form doesn't matter much! I've heard of most powerful masters with the most ridiculous forms! lol!
I just checked out his sword sparring on youtube and it's quite awesome!! must be a lot of fun too
I saw his tuishou some time ago, where he just sent people flying, but not any actual sparring? is there a video of that somewhere ?
