Description I like zombies. Be they fast or slow, undead or infected, zombies tell a great story about our fears of losing control, of being trapped like an animal, of the breaking of our spirit, of the loss of civilized nature in the face of atrocity. They are also just plain scary.

I like it also, though I only listened to the abridged version with mark hamill. The Book is a masterpiece, but the movie...what did you think of the movie?

I personally thought it was tragic, the only thing they took from the book was the main characters name, juereslem being a fortified city and that's it

I knew beforehand that the book and movie would have practically nothing to do with each other so I wasn't as disappointed. But even by its own merit I felt the movie was a less interesting 28 Days Later.

But weren't you a little disappointed that we might never seen some of the epic stories within he World WAR Z book? Like people from different countries sharing their experiences, some were so interesting that I felt if it was shown on the movie, it would have been epic.  Oh yes, in a strange way, I felt 28 days later is more realistic than world war z. In 28 days later, you feel what the main character is feeling.

*shrug* When you don't have high expectations you can't be disappointed. I knew the book wouldn't translate well to cinema and so had little expectation that it would be anything like it.

That's true, I can't imagine how it would work of the film was loyal to the book, there wouldnt be a main character. And there is no way the film could of covered most of the stories.

Zombies are great. The slaughter of thousands. Years of civilazation shattered in days. Maddness overcoming the last humans. Great stuff!

Since any reasonable person doesn't believe zombies are real, I like zombies as a literary device.

I love the original slow stumbling zombie but when it comes to writing stories I really enjoy the fast paced ones more.
