art (c) ~I3Ianimation practice --my first *finished* try at frame-by-frame that aren't emoticons ;v;
*i checked the speed on both chrome and firefox, so it should appear just fine, unless you have slow nets.
there were some doodles [the first & the last poses] lying around my folders, which i had
intended to upload, however i decided to animate it instead xD
i know it's simple (and sloppy) and all, but
i've really really really wanted to learn how to make my doodles move. i haven't had
proper training/lessons with animations so this is all pretty much self-study &
i'm proud of myself for finishing it and not just putting it off in a corner, unlike the
other things i promised myself i would do ;u;
i'll be polishing this one further once i have the time, so this is all, for now.
if you have any advice/tips about 2D animations, please let me know! i'd love to learn more from you cx

i used photoshop cs3. GIMP is less fancier (and free)
and i really don't know what would be less fancy than a free software...

thank you; i wanted to show the character is tired of being told what to do and not to do. however, she feels like she doesn't have a choice so she follows instead and fakes her smiles, though deep inside she's pretty damn tired of all the bull. c:

This looks so good oh gods... the only complaint I'd have would be the overall "shaking" of the whole thing - some of the white lines sometimes disappearing and black ones changing their length or thickness (hair especially) but they're such minor details- skjdbfkad this really is lovely.. sob ;____;

Her overall movement flows well. It's realistic, I should say, how her lips move ever so slightly during her head movement. really nice!

OH LORD, i3i-sama is moving into the animation department now. I will have nothing left! T_T
This looks great btw. The hardest thing I noticed for people starting animation is timing. Figuring out how many frames to make an action look natural, and especially accelerations in frame-by-frame (compared to simple tweening) are things that are good to practice with.

the hardest part with me was with the hair haha; i have slightest to no idea how make it look soft/natural orz
but i'll try it with the real line tools, maybe i'll get it there b:

Oh yes, hair physics, even video games are just starting to get that one right. xD Animation-wise I think your best bet is to talk to i3i-sama in the mirror. Long hair in the back is probably easiest, it swings back and forth or waves like a flag normally, curly hair is stiffer, and bangs and stuffs depends on how you split it.
Hence the suggestion for a mirror, you can at least get a reference off how your own hair "behaves" as you turn/lean/tilt different directions. THAT or just draw bald people all the time.
