Description
This is for my college portfolio which is DUE by Feb. 1... so i need to finish this up.i need to add more cranes and what not to this. but i was wondering where and what you think i should do?
it would be nice to have more input. thanx! ♥ ♥
also i want think to stay black and white. so no other color. but if u think it would look nice im willing to paint something one it.... maybe some japanese of something? idk... i still want the japanese feel and the cranes and all that stuff.
(theres swirls and paper cranes hanging at the bottom incase you cant see them!)
(theres also newpaper which i will also be willing to use aslong as its not too much. i dont want the words to take away from anything.)
a crit. would also be nice~

p.s lol srry about my messy sewing room, im getting ready for a convention so theres a lot going on.

This is so awesome. Even though its a work in progress, I am amazed at the detail and time this took!
Because this is a WIP, I'm not sure what you will be doing, but I Would suggest covering the bottom completely in cranes, but making the top just a strand of cranes. I think that would look cool. I wish the room was a little darker in color, so the dress would be a little easier to see, but you can't really change that very much. The torso seems a tad tight, but that's just me.
I love the color you chose, cranes and white go well together. I like the curls trailing of the dress. I also like the concept, I've never seen something like this before. Very creative. The cranes also seem very artfully done themselves. This totally deserves more attention!

thank you so much!!! the back of the bress ties so i will just losen those and it wont be so tight.
i was planning on adding cranes all the way around the skirt, the only thing that had me holding back was that if i did that the person wearing it couldnt sit down... unless they fluff up the dress... hmmm so maybe i can add cranes all over. i love your idea for the top! i think i will do that!

That's a very nice dress! You must be already half crazy from doing all those cranes!
I'd go with more little cranes, making some kind of path in the bodice... not sure if I explain myself... and if you had some transparent tulle and time even make it go up to the neck. Have you thought about hair/neck decorations?
Anyway, good luck on finishing this dress on time! ^^
PS: it's not messy as long as you can see the floor.

aww thank you! yes that partially why its not done. i really needed a break from making the cranes.... i hand and wrist is killing me and my hand are so dry XD
ya i am totally going to make smaller ones going up on the bodice.
i just need to finish this because i need it for invitations for my senior show in school. so i need to figure out hair and all that fun stuff soon.

I think you should add some red cranes to it. Almost make it look like it's almost bleeding out cranes.

I would add more to the bodice and if you want to add a ton more cranes you could do a train...I love trains....but I really like this it's soooooooooooo coooooooooool and really pretty in a girlish sense which is what I like! Keep up the good work<3

I love this. It's beautiful. What to do with cranes? I also think i tis a little white. Perhaps some contrast with black cranes or so would make it stronger. Although now I get this kind of dreamy feeling which I'm also digging. Perhaps I'd make sure that the weight of the cranes (the big ones) isn't on the front. It's just a personal thing I guess. I always think that 'heavy' items on clothing belong more to the sides or the back. But ofcourse, breaking the usual can also be a nice thing. But just when I think of someone wearing it, I think it might be prettier when the weight is sideways or so.
Another thing to look at is perhaps to make sure that the curls are flowing from the dress a little more. I can't really explain or see myself how to do that. But now they don't look as a part of the dress. You see? They look like something that is put on, but that does not belong. If you know what I'm saying?
But I really have to say, gorgeous work. There really is this japanse feel to it. Really nice work, as I said, dreamy. I'd wear it!

oh i see what you are saying, i can always turn the skirt more and see how that looks so its more to the side.
i do get what u are saying about the curls, i havent finished, but i am working on making them feel more apart of the dress

Beautiful and stylish as usual. The only suggetion is that its too much white. I think you should paint on it a little, like on the cranes. Maybe a gold little stylish design on them or something, so its suddle. black would be to bold.
