Description This enormous pillar of wood stands at the edge of the pool watching over it. Occasional you'll find these large tree stump logs used as steaks across the countryside, why they used them I'm not sure, they must have weighed an absolute ton. Never the less this pillar has stood the test of time and still remains standing as true as it ever was and perhaps for many years to come.

I'm sure you're all getting pretty fed up of this place, that being Llynheilyn Pool but It's be favourite place to shoot, on a nice day that is. Every now and then I'll wonder here as the sun is about to set so I can get the shutter speed nice and long and capture this place in a different light so to speak. I've probably shot this location from every angle imaginable, so these trips prove extra hard to compose new shots that aren't too similar to the last.
I think my style of photography has matured lately, I haven't used photomatix in my work in quite a lot time and have grown out of that artificial look that HDR gives. Instead I've been blending exposures myself if the scene calls for it, but otherwise I've been working on perfecting my exposures so I only need to use one shot if at all possible. Of course I like to go crazy every now and then and do an image just for its impacts sake, but you'll probably be seeing less "dramatic" images and more natural shots from now on.

Hope you all like it.

Beautiful colours and composition. I think the soft sky stoles a bit too much attention from the beautiful wood, but it's still brilliant capture .

Yea, the pool starts feeling kinda familiar, but in a good way, making me curious for new views from the same pool. Looks more like a flooded meadow, with the fence going into the lake. I like the calm and natural look here. I was floored by the first HDRs I saw, but now I've gotten tired of seeing them all over, too artificial.
