I have a friend who replaced all the lights in his room with red lights in high school. I can tell you that it's hard as hell to see anything, much less read, under red light.

I bet. I imagine it's hard to tell what color anything is. You'd probably be in trouble if you had to figure out which was the blue and which was the black wire to disarm an explosive device.
