thanks! i'm a sucker for easter eggs, homages and other little hidden secrets. if you are talking about the "gibson" building, that is also a nod to "hackers". gibson manufactures mainframes in this world, it comes up later. i had originally pitched the idea of making the color of the sky above the port the color of television, tuned to a dead channel. you might know that reference. but the client wanted something more natural

Snow crash wasn't a bad book, but I have read so many others that are much better. Ever read Allan Dean Foster? He wrote Cyber Way and The Mocking Program

Well. If you look close enough. It is Columbia Center. I have been there many times

If you are referring to the one building that pierces the top of the canvas, that is supposed to be Columbia Center with a bunch of antennae on top. Though, admittedly, the antennae along with the incorrect windows does make it look like the Sears Tower, or whatever they are calling it nowadays. Good eye!
