Description
"my golden leaves will fade and fall through branching years,
though sweet the song, yet sweeter still shall be the tears,
the night must come, the shadows grow, the dark descends,
and all we love and all we know must reach an end.
though worlds will die, and worlds will grow..."
In the end, Lidya did not find her voice in the sadness, nor the distress that her pack brothers and sisters felt deep to their cores. She knew that great leaders had fallen, and she knew that this made her mother and father and many of the older wolves sad in a way that she could not truly fix. There was a part of Lidya that was sad as well, very sad indeed, but her made her heart ache more to know the suffering that others were undergoing now. The Lord and Lady had been all but myths to the young juvenile, who had only seen them a few times whilst exploring the densite. She was sad that they were gone, but she was sadder still for the heartbreak in the wolves that remained behind.
She was scared, yes, but it was not fear that made Lidya sing, either. The evil ones, the monsters, they were here at home, and they had stolen hearts of the strongest, best wolves of their pack. It made her scared, yes, but in the end, Lidya knew that if they ever tried to hurt her Mama, or come near her Father again, she would not let them. She would fight and protect them, because she knew it was what they would do for her. She was more scared for her loved ones to lose more than they already had.
No. Instead, as she could swear that two more beautiful, gleaming stars had appeared in the sky, because the Lord and Lady were with the One now, it was hope that made Lidya sing. She didn't like being sad for long, and while she wasn't sure what the future would hold, she was certain that there was something better after all the suffering. Whether that meant going to be with the One, or whether there would be a time when everyone would smile and be happy, she knew a time like that would come, in one way or another. So she sang for the Lord and Lady, and for her pack. She sang for her brothers and sister, who would be the strongest and bestest wolves she knew. She sang for her Father, who was lost but had been found. And she sang for Mama, the bravest and prettiest of all their pack. They would be strong, and it was in that strength that she found the courage to sing.
"out of death, life; out of night, day; glory from sorrow;
out of grief, joy; out of storm comes strength for tomorrow;
out of dust, gold; out of fire, air; comfort, forsaken;
out rage, calm; out of loss, find glory awaken.
shine, forever, beacon of light. blaze in the air, vanquishing night,
sing forever, proud and strong, anthem of life, conquering song,
though tides of fate onward roam,
the song of hope, once begun, will evermore remain."

I've always wanted to have a character be able to sing this song, sdflkjdhsaf, which I don't think Lidya actually is, but maybe later in life, it can be something of hers. I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS. I started this amongst all the feels of what has happened to Aryn's leadershiP, and I'm heckin' excited to see where this next chapter will take us. <3
