I wonder what kind of mineral that is that I captured poking out of the ground. It's shape reminds me of rhodochrosite, but that couldn't be, because rhodochrosite is much more transparent and is found deeper in the ground. What's in the photo is probably something much more common. But what a nice earthy texture I've captured here, eh?
