Description "It ain't no matter of 'if', honey, it's just a matter of 'when.'"

- Host -
Name: Zale

Gender: Male

Age: 30

Occupation: Police Officer

Residence: City

History: Zale doesn't remember his family. He suspects he has early amnesia from... whatever happened when he woke up. He just knows it must have to do with his deepset seismophobia and claustrophobia. He kind of bounced from foster home to foster home until he said screw it at age 14 and struck out with only his familiar, Misha, who was already a mother to him anyways. He was always a bit of a klutz when it came to... anything. But he did his best, just did whatever jobs he could stick to trying to get a little cash to get by.

There was one day where a common thief, some creature he doesn't even vividly remember now, managed to snag some items near him at a yard sale in the Suburbs and took off. Zale was struck with an immediate need to catch the critter, and thundered after them, cornering them easily with his large stature and horns. And the chief of police, Terrak, was impressed to find this clumsy bull with all the items taken looped around his horn, a sheepish smile on his face as he apologized for interfering.

Terrak and his son, Jakob, found Zale some time later, surprised to see the big doof practically living in a shack in the Suburbs. The bull shrugged and explained to them that he'd never really had anyone besides Misha, and this was just the best they could do. Terrak extended the offer to possibly work in the department, and while Zale initially refused... Well, he uh... he needed the money.

What ended up being a potentially failed gig, given the big dolt didn't take anything seriously at first, worked out in his favour. Terrak - and later his son - was quite patient and persistent, and Zale settled in nicely. And now, with a younger officer in the office, Zale feels more and more like he actually makes a difference in the department. Especially since Russell seems so fond of him; nowhere to go but up from here, right?

Personality: Zale's a good, strong-willed fellow who has a good heart. He can be a bit reckless, a little quick-tempered, and just a tad judgmental... But he's truly a good guy, and means well. He has a tendency to hoard things, especially food -- something he's really trying to break out of doing. But don't be surprised if you find him wandering on patrols with a satchel of snacks. It doesn't help that he has a lot of energy to burn every day -- so he's... really not helping his problem, is he! He's surprisingly easy to fluster and get to laugh though; he loves a good joke, and nothing lights his eyes up like a clever pun or punchline.

- Familiar -
Name: Misha

Gender: Female

History: A petty thief turned officer, Misha's not had an easy past life OR current life. Her past life was spent on the road, stealing from whomever she came across just to survive and hunting whatever ferals she could manage as a badger. Being turned into a little... rabbit-thing was weird at first, but... She quite likes Zale. Which is why she's immensely pissed at what happened to him.

Zale was barely 7 when an earthquake struck the city, something so odd and unprecedented -- and what did his parents do? The moment their home began to crumble, they abandoned their wobbly-kneed calf to be crushed under the debris. It was only Misha's quick thinking that saved Zale's life, even if the knock on his head scrambled his brain. She was devastated to find he woke up without any recollection of what happened, no memory of any knowledge they'd had before. Misha had to meet her host all over again, had to watch him struggle with strange families when he didn't even know himself, just had to trust this little electric rabbit who hovered around on his back who apparently knew his name.

Misha figured it was for the best Zale never knew his parents fled and that they hadn't seen them at all. So, as far as he knows, they're dead. They might as well be, in Misha's book anyways.

For the most part, Misha's had to coach Zale through his life, and continues to do so as a motherly figure. She never did want kids, but... She's kind of glad she was there for Zale instead of someone else. He doesn't deserve to have a nasty familiar. Getting used to the department has been such a strange concept for her - she's used to RUNNING from authority - but if it makes Zale happy, then she'll put up with it.

Personality: Misha isn't very righteous and selfless like Zale; she's kind of greedy and petty and honestly, if she was jUST A BIT BIGGER, she'd end any lives that have wronged her or Zale. But her host is such a goofy sweetheart despite everything that she can't help but let it be... Doesn't mean she won't hold a grudge for a milennia. Just means she won't take any action unless pushed to it. Misha can be quite motherly and doting when she needs to be, given she raised her host by herself despite not being able to properly provide for him. She's very protective of those she comes to trust, but it has to be on HER terms, not Zale's. Her poor host is a bit uh... too trusting and naive sometimes... So it falls to her to be the voice of reason. We promise, she's a good-enough bean now... And she's certainly not encouraging the hoarding problem in case something goes south. Definitely not. Don't give us that look.

Ability: Electrical Conduit (Can conduct electricity to the soul of any host she pushes magic into, allowing them to do whatever they please with her magic. Speed boost? Sure. Boosted attack power? Yep. Paralysis? Sure thing! But she's small and she can only charge them enough for ONE THING, so choose wisely! She also works as a conduit, and can suck up electricity thrown at her or in her general vicinity like a lightningrod.)
