This is Lily and she is half Pit Bull and half Boxer and she belongs to my friends Rick and Raeanne, they are also my neighbors who live on the same property as we do.
Lily came here as a very small puppy and has grown into a very kind and loving friend. She loves my daughter and is amazingly tolerant of our high strung over grown standard poodle puppy Jessie. You see our puppy is now bigger than Lily and is constantly antagonizing her but Lily knows despite Jessie's size...Jessie is still a baby...Lily treats her as such.

There is so much controversy over the Pit Bull breed and honestly, it makes me crazy. I can't imagine living in a world where I was always being judged for the actions of another, how incredibly unfair that would be.
I have been fortunate to have known many dogs of the Pit Bull breed and I can honestly say that it has been a positive experience with each one.
I worked many years in Veterinary Medicine, as a Tech mostly...I have met the unfortunate souls of this breed who were not by choice, belonging to people who did not have the dogs best interest at heart...even then...underneath what they had been taught...there was something very real and very sad.
Watching Lily grow up has only reinforced my beliefs when it comes to any animal....if what you expect to receive from an animal is love, then you need to love the animal. As with children, they are like sponges...if you teach them to hate....that is what they will learn.

Lily has a family that loves her, they are kind to Lily and in turn she is kind to others...it's not rocket science...it's respect...to get it...we need to give it.
