Time seems to still be passing
even though I have begged it to stop

When he was small, I barely even gave time a thought because we were looking at forever
and that was such a long ways off.

Now I seem to be counting the days, maybe months and if I am fortunate a few more years.
They tell me not to think about it and I try, I really do.

But some days the fear just creeps on in and I feel scared
because Im no good without him.

Honestly, I barely remember me without him.

14 years ago is like a lifetime...

Today we cuddled in bed and I watched him sleep for like an hour.
I was looking at his whiskers and his pink ears and sweet little toes
and listening to him make his cute little sounds.

And he smells so good.

I just took it all in because I want to remember all of it.

Though I know I could never really forget.

Mikey is doing well, so no worries right now. It was just one of those days and I have them now and again.

Maybe my request for Time to stop is unreasonable...
I think tomorrow I will start asking for it to just slow down....
