Description Gliding through the air
sunken cheeks, lifeless
sunken eyes, unseeing
she floats through a world of night
lost and numb
an echo of what used to be
searching for a sign of her heart's desire
drifting listless and unsettled
trying to find peace for her unrest.

Quite somber, and visceral.
Definitely fitting for a ghost.

Have you heard "Skin of the Night" by M83? Your poem really reminds me of that song.

I wanted to give it that kind of feel. I was actually listening to Haunted by Evanescence when I wrote this if I recall. Or Somewhere by Within Temptation.

I have not heard that song, but I shall now have to look it up since you recommended it! I always love hearing new music. Thank you for enjoying, and for the song recommendation.

Hauntingly beautiful. It makes me think of the Greek story of "Echo" a little bit too.

Hmmmm. Didn't think of it in that way, but the greek story of "Echo" is indeed one of my favorites, and I could see it being applied to this poem. I might have to write a poem for Echo and Narcissus now. Hmmmm. You seem to give me great ideas for poetry. Thank you for enjoying it!

I think anyone that takes the time to read your poetry and stories will enjoy them! You have the talent and you stir emotions or thoughts in your writing. It could be the wonderful descriptions or just the way you envision things, but I just know that I enjoy them lots
