Nice I like the way you shade and colour, though as a bird freak I'd advice some study on feathered wings anatomy the rest of the design is really nice and the eyes came out pretty also... reading the description made me realize you used gimp for transparency, doesn't SAI works with transparency too? Mine does, I just choose the PNG file when I save and a text box appears asking you if you want to make it transparent.

Mine doesn't I've been looking for a version that can do transparency but I didn't find anything...

it was the same problem to me, you should try looking for a different version to download, like the "fan-made" ones, where they basically re-do the program themselves and put it to download.
