Characters: Souseiseki and Suiseiseki from Rozen Maiden (+ their artificial spirits...though you can't really see them past all the snow...)Program: SAI ~<3
I got so high while painting this in SAI...I could never figure out how to have such soft shades in Photoshop. ;____; The snowflake brush is from [link] .
The one thing about this picture that never ceased nagging me is Suiseiseki's face/head...but other than that, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I even drew the hands without referencing, though they're probably too large for doll proportions haha... *n00b pride* Then there's Souseiseki's arm...which is wrong and shall remain so.
Happy Holidays from me. I may not celebrate any particular winter holiday...but the break from school is enough for me to be happy.
P.S. ~Lilium-Bell , my 005 Micron is almost dead. For my birthday, I want $2 so I can buy myself a new one. Thanks.

[edit] LOL YOU KNOW WHAT. While I was doing line art for this I flipped the image to make sure it looked okay, right? ...I forgot to flip it back before coloring, so now the parts in their hairstyles are wrong. Damn it.

I really need to use Sai more often, I have some stick up my ass about using Photoshop for some reason.

Yeah, I feel that Photoshop has too many extra features that I never touch...seems cluttered? And I love SAI's brush. <3 I can't get Photoshop's brush to soft-shade for me.

Your art has definitely improved 
BTW soft shading in Photoshop can be done with an airbrush at low opacity I'd say try 30 to 40% opacity and see how you like it.

I've tried soft shading with Photoshop...for some reason I don't like the result as much as the one I get from SAI, which also has the benefit of being easier. Still, thanks for the tip.

Your hair shading... it's... so... pretty. O_O Seriously. I can't stop staring. And the eyes! Nice job on the hands; I could never do fingernails. I think I see what you're talking about with Sui's face now, but I think Taikuna's right. It's just the headband.
