True justice can not be found in life, unfortunately. It is, in many ways, pure empathy. It is forcing the pain and suffering of the victim upon the perpetrator. Death is the ferryman to justice, not justice itself; just the one who opens the door to the court room.

Well, I know it doesn't involve the most grievous offense of serial murder of all time, does that count for anything?

wow - so true. I still think about whether L or Light was right in their definition of Justice. Good point.

In English class we're working on short stories and my teacher was talking about Protagonists and Antagonists. She was saying that the Protagonist was the "hero" or "good guy". And i explained how Death Note worked, that the bad guy was viewed as the good guy and the good guy was viewed the bad guy and this was my response:
"That's messed up!"
me: o_0 "you have no idea"
