Description
A fanart of "Rule of Rose", a survival horror game for the PlayStation 2.The girl in the pic is the main character, Jennifer, in her gothic lolita outfit (Which you can get after beating the game). I drew the costume out of memory so there's probably some mistakes in it...

Most of the time is spent on the airship but you get to visit the orphanage and one other location later on.

Eh? I did the whole BG and picture with a hands, using mechanical pen. Or do you mean how I got the lines lighter than the rest of the background?
Well, if you have photoshop then continue reading;
Open your lineart in photoshop. Look at the layers section. The lineart should be in the "background layer". Double-click the background layer, and set the colour for example red (or any colour except white).
Make a new layer above it. Colour the new layer entirely white and put it below the layer you have the lineart in.
Go to the lineart layer. Find a box in your photoshop screen that has "Channels" in it. In the Channels box, while lineart layer is selected, press the small circle (It reads "load channel as selection" when you put mouse over it). Then press delete button.
At the layers box press "lock transparent pixels" (While you are at lineart layer) and then colour the lineart the colour you want.
Select the layer that is below the lineart layer and colour it whatever colour you want.
And that's about it. Sorry if I am a bad explainer, but if you have a photoshop I hope that helped.

Yeah, it's really confusing story. I didn't understand much either when I played it for the first time..

It's the main character actually, in her alternative outfit. She looks a lot different in this outfit than in the original outfit though, so that's probably why you didn't recognize her.

There is actually many secret outfits in that game, 5 or 6 if I remember correctly. You'll get a few of them if you complete the game with a good ending and start a new game after that. ^^
