Ch. 1 - Home

The second they got back to the guild, all of Team Natsu made faces, all in awe. The reason being was because of their new Fairy Tail Guild Hall, new and improved!!

"Wow..." Lucy said.

"Wait, was the guild like this while we were gone?" Rin asked.

"No, I don't think so." Gray replied.

"But, we were only gone for 2 days!" Rin cried out.

"Well, this is a surprise." Erza said.

"They finished building?!" Natsu and Happy exclaimed, in unison.

"There it is, Fairy Tail's new guild hall!" Gray exclaimed.

The team entered, and saw the new café.

"Are you kidding me?! We have a café now?!" Gray asked.

Natsu looked dumbfounded. Lucy also noticed the gift shop.

"Do we really need a gift shop, too?" Lucy deadpanned.

"Hey there. I'm glad you guys made it out okay!" Max cheered.

Happy flew over to Max, "They got you working the gift shop now?" Happy asked, "It's been a while since we've seen you around the guild?"

Max scratched the side of his face, "Well, master wanted me to go back to school, because he wanted me to do business." Max explained.

"Max Alors! I've heard all about you in Sorcerer Weekly!" Lucy fangirled.

"Yeah! You are so awesome!" Rin too, fangirled.

Max made a funny face, with a start winking by his side. "Yes Ma'am, that'd be me. And you know, I've heard all about you Lucy. You too Rin!" Max said.

"I don't wanna think about all the crazy things they've told you." Lucy said, with hands on her cheeks, while shrinking.

"I wonder what they told you about me." Rin said, with her index finger on her hand, while thinking, and question marks started popping up.

"So what kind of stuff are you selling here?" Happy asked, looking around.

"Heh. We've got t-shirts, wristbands, mugs, towels, and of course, there's our most popular item." Max explained.

"A Lucy and Rin action figure?!" Happy said, holding one of each in his paws.

"Ah! Nobody asked me if I was cool with that!" Lucy deadpanned, once again.

"THAT'S SO AWESOME~!!!!!" Rin said, with stars sparkling in her eyes.

"They're pose-able, and they're clothes come off!" Max further explained, while the Lucy and Rin action figure dolls' clothes came off.

"GAAAAHHH~!!!!" Lucy cried out.

"That's just gross." Natsu commented.

"Agreed." Gray said.

"I think it might really sell." Rin said.

The team now entered the guild hall, and the new guild hall was sparkling.

"Ah...pretty...!" Lucy, Rin, and Happy cooed.

"I could get used to this." Erza said, with her arms crossed.

Gray noticed Natsu, hiding in his scarf, and he wasn't too happy about it. "Hey man, what's wrong?"

"I'm not good with change." Natsu answered.

"It's so good to have you back Lu! You too Rin-chan!" Levy said, waving to the both of them.

"Oh, hi Levy!" Lucy said.

"Hey Levy! I see you're enjoying this guild!" Rin said.

"Yeah! Isn't this awesome?!" Levy cheered, before she went to the pool, in a white bikini, "Guess what? Now, we've got a swimming pool behind the bar!!" Levy said.

"Welcome back!" Romeo cheered.

"Wow, that's kinda weird." Lucy said.

"A pool?! Man, can this day get better?!" Rin squealed.

"It's just not the same." Natsu deadpanned.

"And, we've even got a game room down on the basement!" Levy said.

"You're back." Macao said, with a game stick in his hand.

"Heh. Took ya long enough! Even the newbie cutie's back!" Wakaba said.

"Does it need to be this big?" Lucy asked.

"I don't like it." Natsu deadpanned, once again.

"But, the biggest change is upstairs, cause now everybody's allowed to go up to the second floor!" Levy said.

"We weren't allowed on the 2nd floor in the other building?" Rin asked.

"Nah. It was only preserved for S-Class mages, such as Erza or Mirajane. Even the master could go upstairs." Gray explained.

"And they had all the S-Class missions up on the 2nd floor." Happy further added.

"Yo!" Elfman called out.

"Oh wow!" Lucy exclaimed.

"Master let's more of us actually go on S-Class quests, but only if an S-Class wizard agrees to go along." Levy added.

"Well, I'm glad you dunderheads made it back safely." Master Makarov said.

"Master." Erza said.

"I'm pretty sure you're all familiar with Juvia right?" Makarov said.

"Hello there again! Welcome back from your mission!" Juvia bowed.

"Juvia, I can't thank you enough from the Tower of Heaven incident." Erza said.

"No, I should be thanking you! Because now, I've found a new guild! I'm so happy!!" Juvia smiled.

"Hey girl!! What's up?!" Lucy cried.

"Oh, I've seen you before!! Hey there Juvia!!" Rin waved.

"LOVE RIVALS!!! WE WILL ALL FIGHT FOR GRAY!!!" Juvia yelled, with venom in her voice.

"You're kidding right?! I thought we settled this at the Tower of Heaven. And I don't want him!!" Lucy defended.

"Uh...what...?" Rin asked, as they were both sucked into Juvia's venomous glare.

"We've also added another new member to the guild. Someone you might recognize. Although, I'm not too sure you will be happy about this." Makarov added.

The rest of Team Natsu turned around. "I wonder who it is." Happy said, while flying.

The second they recognized who it was, Lucy gasped.

"What?! Him?! Are you kiddin' me?!" Gray exclaimed.

The person who was newly initiated into the guild, along with Rin, and Juvia...is Gajeel...!

"Gajeel!" Natsu cried out.

"Why'd you let him in here gramps?!" Gray asked with a murderous tone.

"Calm down. I asked him to come along with me!" Juvia defended.

"Uh...what's going on? And why are they not welcoming Gajeel? What'd he ever do to them?" Rin asked.

"It's a long story." Lucy said.

"To put it short, he destroyed the last guild hall, not to mention, he's the one that hung Shadow Gear on the big tree in Sole Park with his Iron Dragon Slayer Magic." Happy summarized.

"Whoa. He did all that?!" Rin exclaimed.

"Yeah. The last guild he was at, 'Phantom Lord', started a guild war with Fairy Tail." Happy said.

"And not to mention my father hired them to attack Fairy Tail just to try and make me quit the guild!!" Lucy added.

"That, too." Happy added.

"Whoa man. Now, I could see why they wouldn't want a person like that in this guild." Rin said, "But wait...wasn't Juvia from the same guild as Gajeel?"

"Well, yes, but Juvia wasn't the one that destroyed the guild hall, and hung Shadow Gear up on a tree. She just kidnapped me, but she helped us in the Tower of Heaven." Lucy added.

"That makes more sense, I guess." Rin said.

"I don't mind Juvia, but he's the one responsible for destroying our guild hall!" Erza said, with anger and soulless eyes.

"Tch." Was all that Gajeel said.

"Now, now. Remember what I've told you. Yesterday's enemy can be today's friend, right?" Makarov reminded them.

"Yeah. If I'm okay with him being here, then you should be too...!" Levy said, shivering, while hiding behind a table.

Jet and Droy weren't too happy about this decision, either, probably due to the fact that Gajeel hung them and Levy up on a tree.

Natsu slammed his hand on the table. "There ain't no way! I can't work with somebody I can't trust!!" Natsu shouted. Gajeel turned to Natsu with a shadowy face. "What's the big deal? It's not like I wanna be your buddy." Gajeel said.

"Man that's cold!" Natsu said, with an offended face.

Gajeel stood up, "The only reason why I'm here is to get work. I hate this stupid guild, and everyone in it, but times are tough and I had no choice but to join!" Gajeel explained.

"Shut up loser!" Natsu retaliated.

"Sorry, but Gajeel was having a hard time finding work, and I couldn't just turn my back on him! But I don't want you to think I have a crush on him or anything!!" Juvia explained.

"Juvia, no one said you did. And besides, we all know who you have a crush on." Rin said.

"I know you kids don't like it, but as the master of this guild, it's my duty to help those who've gone astray to find the right path!" Makarov said, with a twinkling star by his face, "Give him a shot, you might find he's a nice guy. At least, I hope so."

"While I may not agree with you, I will respect your decision. But I'll warn you, I'm going to be keeping a very close eye on him." Erza said.

"Fine. Do what you want." Makarov said.

Natsu and Gajeel were still having a glare-down at each other.

"They act more like dogs than dragons." Macao said, with a cup of sake in his hand, "Don't ya think?"

"Aye sir! Ya might wanna bring out the mussels to be safe!" Happy happily agreed, while munching on fish.

"AWWW~!!! SO CUTE~!!!" Rin fangirled.

"This new guild hall just doesn't feel right." Natsu said, before the lights went out.

The stage curtains opened, only to reveal Mirajane wearing a yellow dress and having a fish guitar in her hand and a floating mic by her side.

"Hey! We made it back Mira!" Natsu shouted.

"Good to see you! I'd like to dedicate this song to Fairy Tail's strongest team. And congratulate them on their safe return, not to mention the newcomer, Rin, who has also completed her first mission, the second she joined this guild." Mira explained.

Mira strung a few strings on the guitar.

The whole guild started cheering.

Mira (singing): As I walk past your room~
My shadow falls through your door~
One more day you're not here~
I'm alone for yet another day~
I look up at the starry sky and say a prayer~

The guild was loving this!

Mira (singing): At the same time, you're beneath the same sky~

Team Natsu was really loving this performance. However, Natsu was still slouched.

'I'm so happy they made it back safely', Makarov thought.

Mira (singing): Sometimes, you'll tremble, while holding back tears~
And you feel you're going to stumble in the darkness~

'I can't believe how fast my Fairy Tail children are growing up. Maybe it is time for me to start thinking about retiring.' Makarov thought.

Mira (singing): But don't forget~
You have a place~
You have a place to return to~
And that you have people~
Waiting for you~

After that, the whole guild cheered for her performance!! Mira stood up and took a bow.

"Awesome! Who's up next?!" Macao yelled.

Suddenly, the lights dimmed out again. And this time, the person that was on the stage, was Gajeel, in a white suit and a white fedora with a guitar with chains at the end!!

The whole guild was shocked.

"Ah..! What the...?!" Natsu stood up.

"Don't tell me he's gonna sing!!" Rin exclaimed.

"I think he is." Lucy said.

"And I don't think anyone's gonna stop him." Gray added.

"This is a tune I called "Best Friend." Gajeel said, "Would you like to hear it? Well here it goes."

Everyone started booing and throwing stuff at them.

Gajeel (singing): Colorful~ Colorful! Shoo-bee-doo-ba~
Ya caught my eye~

The rest of Team Natsu was deadpanning at his performance, and they all practically turned pale, and they even started to crack.

Gajeel (singing): Iron colored and metallic~

"Whoa!" Levy exclaimed.

"He's not half bad!" Elfman cheered.

"Show them what you can do Gajeel!!" Juvia cheered.

Gajeel (singing): Too-too-too~ Sha-la-la~
Shee-bee-doo-ba~

However, outside of Fairy Tail, was a certain Lightning Dragon Slayer.

Gajeel (singing): Sha-la-la~
One bite is never enough~

Natsu had his ears covered, "This is gotta be the worst song I've ever heard!"

"I dunno. The whole guild seems to be liking him." Rin said. Suddenly, Gajeel's guitar was thrown at Natsu.

"You wanna piece of me?!" Natsu exclaimed, before he and Gajeel clashed with their right legs.

"Shee-bee-doo-ba~!!" Gajeel replied.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Natsu shouted, as he and Gajeel were in a comical circle fight.

"Shee-bee-doo-ba, ya moron!!" Gajeel replied.

"Stop!!" Makarov cried.

Natsu was soon hit with a cup of sake, and his cheek turned red. "Okay, which one of you threw that?!" Natsu cried.

Gray got up, only to accidentally bump into Erza, which made her cake fall!!!

"Natsu!! Would ya quit screwing each other around already?!" Gray shouted.

Erza was petrified at the fact that her cake fell.

"He made me...drop my...strawberry cake...?" Erza asked, before Elfman stepped on it, which mortified her even more!

"Now listen up!" Elfman declared, "If you're a real man, you'd take this outside!!"

BAP!!!

"Watch it, you oaf!!" Erza kicked Elfman with her hind leg.

And before they knew it, the guild was erupting into another fight.

Lucy, Happy, and Rin all sighed in unison, while hiding behind a table. Makarov was crying, and everyone else was still fighting.

Natsu noticed this, and smiled. "Now, this is starting to feel like the Fairy Tail I kno-" he said, before he got hit with Gajeel's iron club.

"Quit screwing around!!" Gajeel yelled.

"So, what the deal? What'd ya call me out here for?" Gajeel asked, in a somewhat irritated tone, "Make it fast. I've gotta get to work." Levy was hiding behind a tree.

"We've got a bone to pick with you!" Jet answered.

"After what you did to us! There's no way you're joining our guild!" Droy added.

"C'mon guys, can't you just forgive and forget?" Gajeel asked.

This only angered Jet and Droy.

"Maybe he's right." Levy said, while still hiding behind the tree, "I mean, now that he's in the guild, he's not gonna do it again.." Levy said, while having the flashback of her and the rest of Shadow Gear being hung up on the tree.

"We've gotta let him know...!" Jet said.

"He can't mess with us!" Droy added.

Gajeel chuckled.

"That right! Go ahead and act tough...! While ya still can!" Jet yelled, before he used his Super Speed to attack Gajeel.

"Secret Seeds!" Droy threw a bunch of seeds, which turned into stems, and eventually knuckles which all started punching Gajeel.

BAP! BAP! BAP! BAP! BAP! SLAP!!

"Knuckle Plant!"

"Falcon's Heaven's Soar!" Jet yelled, before he kicked Gajeel back.

Gajeel was able to catch himself on the ground,before leaving a trail of scratched dirt on the ground.

"You had enough yet?" Jet asked.

"What happened to the tough guy act?" Droy mocked.

Levy was so scared for Gajeel...but then she looked back, only to see Laxus coming along.

"You're not giving the new guy a hard time, are ya?" Laxus asked, only for Jet and Droy to look back at him.

"Laxus!"

"But...seeing as this is the punk that tore down the guild hall, I understand how ya feel," he said, before walking closer to Gajeel, "I bet the only reason why the old geezer let you join was because he was scared of letting you wreck the place again." Soon, Laxus had an awful lot of veins on his face. "We've become the laughing stock of the community! Because of you!"

"On my way back from my last job, I stopped myself at a few pubs, and I heard some things that pissed me off. Everybody was talkin' about how weak the Fairy Tail Guild is now!! No one dared to say that about us, before YOU came along!" Laxus had more lightning appearing from his body, before he shocked Gajeel with lightning. Gajeel was screaming with agony.

"Now, you're gonna pay!!" Laxus said, before punching the ground, on which more lightning came along, sending Gajeel back to a tree.

"Hey now! You're taking this too far man, calm down!!" Jet exclaimed.

"I know Laxus is strong and all, but something about this just doesn't seem right. It seems like Gajeel is going down too easily." Droy commented.

"..I didn't realize it until now...he's not fighting back...he's letting us pummel him..!" Jet realized.

Levy was close to tears. He's letting them get their anger out on him...!' Levy thought, 'I think he's trying to gain our acceptance...by enduring the pain...!'

Soon, Laxus was stomping on Gajeel's head. "Ya never should've messed with Fairy Tail punk! Cause now you're gonna have to deal with me!!" Laxus exclaimed.

"Laxus cut it out! Leave him alone!" Jet defended.

"I'm not taking orders from you!!" Laxus ordered, before he shot some lightning which was meant for Levy. However, Gajeel was fast, and was able to defend Levy.

"Gajeel...?!" Levy gasped.

"I'd rather you take all of your anger out on me, than involve her in this. She had nothin' to do with this, so leave her out of it...! And besides...if you're done pummeling me...I've got other things to do." Gajeel said, trembling, before walking.

"Um...Gajeel I-"

"Leave me alone...!" Gajeel spat.

"Tch." Laxus sucked his teeth, before walking away, leaving Shadow Gears shocked. "I can't take much more of this. Fairy Tail has become totally pathetic! It's nothing but a joke now!!" Laxus clenched his fist. "The stupid old geezer is running it into the ground...! When I take over the guild, things are gonna change!!!" Laxus said, with veins all over his face, and vengeance.

"Good to see you! I'd like to dedicate this song to Fairy Tail's strongest team. And congratulate them on their safe return, not to mention the newcomer, Rin, who has also completed her first mission, the second she joined this guild." Mira explained.

Mira strung a few strings on the guitar.

The whole guild started cheering.

Mira (singing): As I walk past your room~
My shadow falls through your door~

I look up at the starry sky and say a prayer~

The guild was loving this!

Mira (singing): At the same time, you're beneath the same sky~

Team Natsu was really loving this performance. However, Natsu was still slouched.

'I'm so happy they made it back safely', Makarov thought.

Mira (singing): Sometimes, you'll tremble, while holding back tears~
And you feel you're going to stumble in the darkness~

'I can't believe how fast my Fairy Tail children are growing up. Maybe it is time for me to start thinking about retiring.' Makarov thought.

Mira (singing): But don't forget~

After that, the whole guild cheered for her performance!! Mira stood up and took a bow.

"Awesome! Who's up next?!" Macao yelled.

Suddenly, the lights dimmed out again. And this time, the person that was on the stage, was Gajeel, in a white suit and a white fedora with a guitar with chains at the end!!

The whole guild was shocked.

"Ah..! What the...?!" Natsu stood up.

"Don't tell me he's gonna sing!!" Rin exclaimed.

"I think he is." Lucy said.

"And I don't think anyone's gonna stop him." Gray added.

"This is a tune I called "Best Friend." Gajeel said, "Would you like to hear it? Well here it goes."

Everyone started booing and throwing stuff at them.

Gajeel (singing): Colorful~ Colorful! Shoo-bee-doo-ba~
Ya caught my eye~

The rest of Team Natsu was deadpanning at his performance, and they all practically turned pale, and they even started to crack.

Gajeel (singing): Iron colored and metallic~

"Whoa!" Levy exclaimed.

"He's not half bad!" Elfman cheered.

"Show them what you can do Gajeel!!" Juvia cheered.

Gajeel (singing): Too-too-too~ Sha-la-la~
Shee-bee-doo-ba~

However, outside of Fairy Tail, was a certain Lightning Dragon Slayer.

Gajeel (singing): Sha-la-la~
One bite is never enough~

Natsu had his ears covered, "This is gotta be the worst song I've ever heard!"

"I dunno. The whole guild seems to be liking him." Rin said. Suddenly, Gajeel's guitar was thrown at Natsu.

"You wanna piece of me?!" Natsu exclaimed, before he and Gajeel clashed with their right legs.

"Shee-bee-doo-ba~!!" Gajeel replied.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Natsu shouted, as he and Gajeel were in a comical circle fight.

"Shee-bee-doo-ba, ya moron!!" Gajeel replied.

"Stop!!" Makarov cried.

Natsu was soon hit with a cup of sake, and his cheek turned red. "Okay, which one of you threw that?!" Natsu cried.

Gray got up, only to accidentally bump into Erza, which made her cake fall!!!

"Natsu!! Would ya quit screwing each other around already?!" Gray shouted.

Erza was petrified at the fact that her cake fell.

"He made me...drop my...strawberry cake...?" Erza asked, before Elfman stepped on it, which mortified her even more!

"Now listen up!" Elfman declared, "If you're a real man, you'd take this outside!!"

BAP!!!

"Watch it, you oaf!!" Erza kicked Elfman with her hind leg.

And before they knew it, the guild was erupting into another fight.

Lucy, Happy, and Rin all sighed in unison, while hiding behind a table. Makarov was crying, and everyone else was still fighting.

Natsu noticed this, and smiled. "Now, this is starting to feel like the Fairy Tail I kno-" he said, before he got hit with Gajeel's iron club.

"Quit screwing around!!" Gajeel yelled.

"So, what the deal? What'd ya call me out here for?" Gajeel asked, in a somewhat irritated tone, "Make it fast. I've gotta get to work." Levy was hiding behind a tree.

"We've got a bone to pick with you!" Jet answered.

"After what you did to us! There's no way you're joining our guild!" Droy added.

"C'mon guys, can't you just forgive and forget?" Gajeel asked.

This only angered Jet and Droy.

"Maybe he's right." Levy said, while still hiding behind the tree, "I mean, now that he's in the guild, he's not gonna do it again.." Levy said, while having the flashback of her and the rest of Shadow Gear being hung up on the tree.

"We've gotta let him know...!" Jet said.

"He can't mess with us!" Droy added.

Gajeel chuckled.

"That right! Go ahead and act tough...! While ya still can!" Jet yelled, before he used his Super Speed to attack Gajeel.

"Secret Seeds!" Droy threw a bunch of seeds, which turned into stems, and eventually knuckles which all started punching Gajeel.

BAP! BAP! BAP! BAP! BAP! SLAP!!

"Knuckle Plant!"

"Falcon's Heaven's Soar!" Jet yelled, before he kicked Gajeel back.

Gajeel was able to catch himself on the ground,before leaving a trail of scratched dirt on the ground.

"You had enough yet?" Jet asked.

"What happened to the tough guy act?" Droy mocked.

Levy was so scared for Gajeel...but then she looked back, only to see Laxus coming along.

"You're not giving the new guy a hard time, are ya?" Laxus asked, only for Jet and Droy to look back at him.

"Laxus!"

"But...seeing as this is the punk that tore down the guild hall, I understand how ya feel," he said, before walking closer to Gajeel, "I bet the only reason why the old geezer let you join was because he was scared of letting you wreck the place again." Soon, Laxus had an awful lot of veins on his face. "We've become the laughing stock of the community! Because of you!"

"On my way back from my last job, I stopped myself at a few pubs, and I heard some things that pissed me off. Everybody was talkin' about how weak the Fairy Tail Guild is now!! No one dared to say that about us, before YOU came along!" Laxus had more lightning appearing from his body, before he shocked Gajeel with lightning. Gajeel was screaming with agony.

"Now, you're gonna pay!!" Laxus said, before punching the ground, on which more lightning came along, sending Gajeel back to a tree.

"Hey now! You're taking this too far man, calm down!!" Jet exclaimed.

"I know Laxus is strong and all, but something about this just doesn't seem right. It seems like Gajeel is going down too easily." Droy commented.

"..I didn't realize it until now...he's not fighting back...he's letting us pummel him..!" Jet realized.

Levy was close to tears. He's letting them get their anger out on him...!' Levy thought, 'I think he's trying to gain our acceptance...by enduring the pain...!'

Soon, Laxus was stomping on Gajeel's head. "Ya never should've messed with Fairy Tail punk! Cause now you're gonna have to deal with me!!" Laxus exclaimed.

"Laxus cut it out! Leave him alone!" Jet defended.

"I'm not taking orders from you!!" Laxus ordered, before he shot some lightning which was meant for Levy. However, Gajeel was fast, and was able to defend Levy.

"Gajeel...?!" Levy gasped.

"I'd rather you take all of your anger out on me, than involve her in this. She had nothin' to do with this, so leave her out of it...! And besides...if you're done pummeling me...I've got other things to do." Gajeel said, trembling, before walking.

"Um...Gajeel I-"

"Leave me alone...!" Gajeel spat.

"Tch." Laxus sucked his teeth, before walking away, leaving Shadow Gears shocked. "I can't take much more of this. Fairy Tail has become totally pathetic! It's nothing but a joke now!!" Laxus clenched his fist. "The stupid old geezer is running it into the ground...! When I take over the guild, things are gonna change!!!" Laxus said, with veins all over his face, and vengeance.
