The design of this species dates back to 4/11/2018
Basic info:
Paraspone Wyrms are parasites that attach themselves to creatures they choose to be their host. They insert roots into their hosts via hair follicles, and grow on pony species often as the mane and tail offer wider follicles to inhibit.

Cindy (Host) and Silvia
Once attached, the parasite will release serotonin (happy feel-good chemical) and dopamine (cuddle/comfort chemical) into their host, giving the host a good feeling and generally welcoming of it's new companion. The relationship of the two is like that of good roommates; friendly and happy to be together.
The parasite leeches nutrients from its host, and gets all oxygen and fluids the same way.
There are two types of Paraspone Wyrms,

Meet Star Snatcher!

She is a pony who had always been obsessed with outer-space and science-fiction stories, ever since she was a young filly. When she was not watching sci-fi shows/movies, she was helping around her parents garden, helping with making sure the plants were nice and healthy.

One day when she was feeding the venus flytraps, she noticed out of her eye what looked like a large worm. Curious, she took a look at it, and noticed that ther were 2 of them, both with a cut on them. Feeling bad for them, she took them inside, and helped cleaned them up before sending them back out again. However, the next time she was out, she was them both again! She soon realised that the 2 of them had seemed to see her as a friend, and so she decided to make them her pets.

The 2 of them bonded, with her showing them all of her nerdy interests and talking to them about all the ideas she has and how her day was, before soon, she had the 2 of them crawl up on her, before gently biting down, and forming a symbiotic bond with her! The 2 had replaced her mane and her tail, how sharing the connection with eachother. Despite this, Star was excited about this, as she felt like this was exactly like how one of her sci-fi stories went! (just with a LOT less blood and gore XD)

Today, Star works as the owner of a store, talking about about all sorts of nerdy tuff with her customers, along with showing off her two parasitic pals. Despite her strange looks, Star is still a very friendly pony who does her best to make sure others are happy :3
