Description This is my hubby's second steampunk skull sculpture - a mule deer doe! I found this skull at my dad's house and it's pretty weathered. Made with assorted watch and camera bits and other stuff, I'm sure. I like this guy.

A great way to recycle an old beat up skull and discarded lamp base. Very creative! He could make some neat steampunk skull lamps. Keep 'em up!

I'll let you know when it's done!

Would you happen to know how he made the parts stick? I was thinking I could use some epoxy...

E6000 glue! We both use it in our sculptures. It's strong as heck and bonds almost anything to anything. It's only downfall is its drying time - several hours to fully set (for example, the eye pieces in this sculpt we used painter's tape to hold them place until it was fully dry so they wouldn't move). I've used epoxy before but I like the E6000 better.

And YES! I definitely want to see!!

Very nice.
May I ask, where do you source your watch parts?

Thank you! The watch parts all came from my grandfather. He made sculptures of trains out of watch parts and when he passed away he left me a whole case of watch parts.

You're welcome. Keep up the great work

Cool. I'm always on the look out for parts like that. It so frustrating that a lot of watches these days have cheap plastic parts in them.
I just recently got a resin cast of a wolf skull that I intend to do up in a steampunk style.

Yeah, watches today suck for parts. I'm always on the lookout at antique shops and flea markets. You can also find parts on Ebay and Etsy - though they can be quite pricey.

The camera and watch bits are crazy. I've seen inside a few old camera's and watches and they always have the must unique parts inside.

They do! Pain in the butt to get off all the tiny screws, but worth it!
