Description Yes, that's Belicose. One 'L'. It's a name. Just thought I'd nip that in the butt before it comes up again.

Ok. For those of you that remember the OLD Belicose from SLS; you may recall how he looked - that is to say: "canned generic vampire 'A"". Frankly; It always bothered me that he didn't seem to look appropriate for how I picture The Kurai lords.

Anyways - the irony is that his new appearance (whie much more appropriate for WHAT he is), is far more simple than his previous one: though his personality should have more of an impact this way.

Far right are some salvaged images of the Old Belicose, middle shows white serpent and darkforce manifestations.

Wow... that's just awesome. I'll admit, I was a little sad that Belicose died so early, especially since he seemed to be the only tangible ringleader for the ceaseless villain activity going on left and right. His death seemed so... premature.

This Belicose is so much cooler than the last. He looks younger, for one thing, so the whole "innocent youth" stereotype will contrast his vile personality (provided you intend to keep that aspect.)

He looks more like one of those brooding RPG villains that lurks behind the scenes and always seems WAAAY to powerful for the heroes to handle, right up until the game's end.

All I can say is that I hope this Belicose lives a little longer than the last.

The outfit is cool and the two manifestations are nifty, but somehow I don't know if I could get attached to this character. I think the problem is that he looks too young, especially considering the position of authority that he's supposed to have. Maybe some more well-defined eyebrows or cheekbones? Just something to make him look older than sixteen, really....

Oh yeah! THe Chaos Wings. They were like Belicose's trademark...Maybe Icy just forgot to use 'em... Or maybe he's saving them for another character.

Chaos wing, yeah. Belicose wore a Chaoswing in much the same effect as a vampire wearing a cross: the symbol is largely opposite of what the Kurai represent. Other, more appropriate, characters will pop up with the symbol

...If vampires are creatures that are evil...doesn't that go against god? So....they wore a cross to get god mad?

Hah. So this is the new, Beli' huh? I have to say I agree with Toriga. He look completely badass before. But this isn't that bad. He's a little younger than before now, but I guess that'll add character for him to act like his usual high class self with a young adult body. Plus he'll be much more eye candy for the ladies not. Nice job, Icy.

Sweet new design. Now he can play the "cute but deadly" card.

You know Icy, the new version just strikes me as appearing like a Chronos Number (From Black Cat) err minus the serpent form.

the pale serpent actually reminds me of a skekses from the Dark Crystal. (making him look like a snake wasn't working...so I kinda...went crazy)

the newest version looks younger and prettier, and yes, not like the canned Vampire.

the pale Serpent looks like an elderly vulture in some cartoon I watched when I was a kid, though I'm not sure which one. Sorry, but it makes me laugh

Anyhoo, nice work.

I actually am kind of thinking that the full-blooded Kurai (not espers married into the family like Garland) will have a sort of.. 'feminine' look to them. And I do think that Belicose had a great impact on the readers from the respone I got from him... and the fact that I geeked him so early .

However: this time I want him to have more speaking lines: So I wanted a more unique character, and someone who was imposing by personality, not looks.

...I think I may put the eyebrows back in now that you mention it though

It's a flat-chested chick who turns into a dodo bird-person!
One thing I liked about Belicose is that he was intimidating, although yes he did look like a canned vampire. This fellow...well, could be modeling underwear for Victoria's Secret with a little work.

Not that I have anything against women ;D Just men that LOOK like women are funny! And annoying when you pass 'em in the halls, expecting to see a girl, but when you get close enough... Yipe!

"I don't think he's gonna pull through" was a great line as well. As for Bell... I think he needs the evil eyebrows from the first version. Even though you're going for an unassuming look, I think maybe that there could be just a hint of what lurks inside.

Glad you're back. :3

I kind of liked the old version, it made him look pretty sinister. I was kind of saddened when he got offed in the original version, but he was enjoyable as a villian, at least from a reader's perspective. While his older appearance was badass, this one is sort of... unassuming. You wouldn't expect someone of this appearance to open a can of dark toned whoop-ass on you, normally. Good job.

Of course, I happen to be a sadistic twit who likes to torment characters... >.>

I happen to like a fair share of torment myself: Being a character in Shadowlark is one of the most unfortunate things that can happen to anyone poor Eve and Sakura
