Today when I was driving, there was a dead dog laying in the middle of the road. It had rained all night, and it's long fur was matted and wet. It's eyes were closed, and it looked peaceful, as there was no blood visible. Later on, on my way back, I saw Animal Control picking the dog up.I was immediately struck by this image. I do not know the dog, I do not know who the owners are or were. All I know is that the life of a beautiful animal was lost thanks to humanity.
I decided to draw this image in a sort of 'tribute' to this dog. Even though I've never seen it before in my life, I wanted to do something for it. I only saw it's face once, but I tried to draw it as accurate as I could.

Awwww!! I've just been helping out at an animal shelter for the past two weeks and this reminds me of one of the dogs there!!!!! It's name is Gomer (Ya lame name I know). THis almos t made me cry cause I love tat dog!!!!

Such a beautiful picture. The story reminds me of last forth of July... we were on our way home and there was a dead dog on the busiest street in town. It had it's leash attached still... which leads me to believe the unfortunate owners had to watch as their dog was killed. *Sigh.*

Mmm, this reminds me when I was driving home and ended up watching a cat get hit by a car is the lane across the street. It really is devistating :/ Lovely picture though.

This is so sweet, that poor dog...it remind me of the time I saw a dead cat on the side of the road, it looked as it were sleeping but as I approached it I could clearly see that it had been attacked. It's fur was pristine, well groomed and looked plush soft (I didn't touch it) But now we know they are in a better place

awww, this picture is so amazing, but the story is so sad D:
the other day i saw this really small dog, it looks so muchj like my friends dog, and im assuming it was hit by a car. but what saddens me even more is that whoever hit it didnt even bother taking it to a vet... its jut laying on the side of the road. i hope someome comes to take it away. i close my eyes everytime we drive by.... ):

Poor thing. =/ When I see dead animals on the side of the road, I also feel extremely sad for them.. And guilty. I've got a lot of issues with death, so when anything that concerns it comes up, I just.. Lose my zeal.
Great drawing, I think it's wonderful that you care about an unknown dog like that.
