Description "The root of the powers of Earth. Material gain, power, labor, wealth, contentment, materialism. Represents the last of the feminine symbols; it is the twin sister of Air, and its bride. It is not only Earth, but matter. Per contra, the Disk is the whirling symbol of Space. The Disk is winged to indicate the spiritual origin. This is primative Earth, both as a whirling planet and a substance. The greek inscription is "To the mark of the Beast" and implies the earthy element."

As I knew there's be a rush for the Major Arcana, I elected to choose elsewhere. Practical considerations regarding Apo's natural bent led to the Disk suit, and a single is clearly simplest (so lazy!). How delightfully paradoxical, then, does the choice appear: an arch non-materialist depicting the root of things material! I welcome interpretations from practitioners of the divining art. Drawing inspiration from Crowley's Thoth deck (Crowley is a fascinating subject per se; his interpretation of the tarot is extremely deep and worthy of study; and the designs are perhaps the most overtly fractal), this design incorporates four key elements therefrom: the central disc, obviously; an enfolding by four; wings, in this case butterfly ("The Disk is winged to indicate the spiritual origin"); and the colour scheme, suggestive of Earth's natural bounty. [link]

A PoincarΓ©-type disc, butterfly-linked and partially projected with a linear/spherical mix.

(Note: contrary to the 'rules', I actually rendered this before I'd received my card information. Why? This is the tarot, and I felt the force of its current.)
