Description A dedication to the undisputed King of Ferns, ~Gibson125 . In an oddly synchronous piece of flame creation, as he implemented an off-the-cuff suggestion of mine in the creation of this wonderful fern , I was playing around with an old parameter of my own, morphing a leaf shape into the dried grasses you see here. Its classic IFS style made me think of Michael's ferns, and so the dedication was decided, though he beat me to it

Apophysis, of course, with border and title a combination of the GIMP plus PhotoFiltre.

I cannot claim ~Gibson125 's fern perfection, but I am pleased with the overall result

Beautiful fractal work. Love when artists manage to make fractal work look organic and real. Truly incredible.

They now say that the Universe may be 'a fractal ', so I reckon that fractal programs should contain Nature's complete morphology: it's just down to us to find it

Thank you indeed! I like the corollary to that thought: that my "visual style" is not bound by mere "reality"

Bravo! Most excellent and in the elusive ( at least for me ) rainbow type gradi.
Nice straight stem which are always the hardest part in my fern variations.
A most excellent render Ian. For some reason I can't fav it. I will return.

Thanks, Michael! dA having one of its hiccups It was a gradient of my own devising (back in '04 ), created in ChaosPro then sneaked into Apo by the Smooth Palette function. Just after that, I created a spreadsheet for direct conversion, which simplified things a little

Gibson125 In reply to IDeviant [2007-04-23 23:39:17 +0000 UTC]

Cool image. I used to use Chaos Pro but when he upgraded it to resemble the UF upgrade I got lost. The smooth palette function is one of Apo's strong points. IMO

IDeviant In reply to Gibson125 [2007-04-25 06:35:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I think it was the version before the current one that I couldn't figure how to get started from... until a moment of random clicking unlocked the secret. It must have been a bug, because it was changed afterwards. But by then, I'd rather fallen for our beloved Apophysis
