I know this trend probably died like a year ago but I felt like making this because I've actually had this idea for a while. xD
The dithering. lord jesus. I must have been her for 2 hours just doing that..This is for any emoticonist to use. xD
I sorta kinda used the nano bit font (made by Mirz123 ) for this. It's like I edited probably one or two letters.
I totally think I'm gonna animate this with a wave animation. c:

hmm tbh I gotta agree with Amoret there. While I think that the colours popping more now is good, I think I liked the old expression better.

Hello, thought i'd come and leave a critique. It won't be much good because i'm not an artist and this is really good, sorry!
I really like the icon and i think it's a good concept, but i can't help but think the little emoticon face should be drawing or something so that it's actually making something (like an emoticon). That said, it's really small so that would probably be really difficult to do.Ā
Apart from that, i love it. Well done, you're fantastic.

This is a really cool twist on the meme, I also like that it's format is round, just like an emote is.
It maybe looks a bit squished, but that's because you chose an almost icon-sized canvas to work on.
I like the colours, especially the dithering in the background, thoughthe white line (in lack of better words) seems to be putting the emphasis on make rather than emotes, which I find to be of more importance, but that's just me.
I should probably see this as a motivation to emote again but I'm so out of it!

Well, they are in special lightweight programs for pixelart. One of them is Graphics. Gale. You can get demo for free, steal it or buy for 20$. There are others too.

Uhm... perfect? All pixel tools+animation. If I'm not mistaking, demo has EVERYTHING except custom brushes. Also I'd steal it because it's japanese and a bit old thus hard to buy. There are some free tools too. Not always for windows.Ā
