Having submitted any traditional art for a while haven't I.So here's another portrait of Mikoto. I have mixed feelings about this one. Kinda tough to make rendering seem real, look like the character and look beautiful all at the same time(what I call the 3 edge of realism/semi-realism fanart). What do you guys think?
I realize the body is a bit small now...

This is pretty similar to what mikoto always had looked In my mind, and Ive never bothered to look at her in the manga.

man how do you do it? each time i shade it seems like the shading meshes up and you cant distinguish the hair from part of the face but yours seem perfect any tips?

Looks very nice, just spotted one little thing. The ear is way to low if you look at were the eyes and nose are. You probelly just drew a straight line from the eyes and nose. That would work if you saw the head from front vieuw which isn't the case here.
Try using a ref next time so you know where everything should be.

i really like it. it's got a realistic look yet an anime feel to the hair, really nicely done. plus the detail with the pencil is great.

Beautiful art work. She's really pretty.
The only thing I noticed about the body was that her left side seemed to be too small in comparison to her right side. That may just be because she's at an angle, but it seems like you may have made that side too small anyway.

Very fine artwork! I think the proportions are excellent mangawise, you should not edit the work any more and just feel good about this one!
Your artwork kind of reminds me of Tsukasa Hojo's, which is a compliment. Keep at it!

I'm sorry i'm not fluent enough in Japanese to know about the names' meanings.
All i know about her is that she was a loving, considerate mother and that her and Fugaku (Sasuke's father) got killed by Itachi along with their clan as you may know.

* SPOILER ALERT* Well, the mangeokyu (sp?) sharingan , after sevral uses, makes you blind. Itachi new that, so he let sasuke live so when he's older, he can take sasuke's eyes so he won't be blind. pretty gross, eh?

how delicious....I've been so curious that I have started to read the Manga where Sauke and Itachi fight but although Itachi takes Sasuke's one eye and Sasuke stabbs him with his sword, both are still perfectly okay...I don't get it...

that was all genjutsu.that's why they were fine. Itachi used tsukyomi (sp?) on sasuke but he overcame it with his hatred ...
Besides Itachi let sasuke live because he wanted to take his brother's eyes to get the ultimate Mangekyou Sharingan and inextinguisable light.
As the manga says "for years the uchiha clan members have killed their best friends to gain MS and killed their brothers to obtain the ultimate Mangekyou sharingan and the inextinguishable light by plucking out their eyes and exchanging them with their own eyes.(which means that you won't get blind even if you use mangekyou sharingan everytime).
