So there is a contest going on right now, giving away a Shiny Skrelp*eeeakkk!!!*
and in the comments, participants are required to use "Skrelp", and "Jetpack".
My reply:
"Once upon a time, there was a Skrelp who was filled with jealousy
when he saw how colorful and shiny a passerby Horsea's scales were.
Luckily, he had a jetpack on fin and was able to blow his competition
out of the water...!"
I got a little inspired by the notion and Wa-Lah!
My first Pokemon Fandom art!
I have recently started to attempt to incorporate backgrounds,
so I would love any feedback on how awesome I did or how I could improve.
This is the first piece in a while that I have put a good few hours of effort into.
(I used to be so fast, re-learning SAI after my hiatus)
I know there was a lot of room for improvement, but I really like the simple-ish look
to it, it gives it a comfortable, fun feeling I think.
***I just realized the strap on the backpack isn't right,
so if critiquing, keep in mind that I've realized the error there
Will fix when I have time

My favorite part of the skrelp is his nose. I wish the horsea was a little bigger, you can barely see him back there.

My goal was to make the Skrelp the star of the picture,
but I do think it would have improved the picture if I
put a little more effort into the horsea. Next time I'll
try to make my pic more proportional.
