Description
This is a series of art entitled "Controversy". I felt the need to lash out about some of my views on politics and religion. Some may be offended by the material in this series. I ask that you not take it seriously it's just a political statement or opionion if you will.This also is a big departure from my style of art.
I'd like to hear everyones feedback about the art as well as the themes involved.

While your here pissing and moaning and being "artistic" there are men and women giving thier life so you can. Please take a deeper look at what it took to allow you the freedom to be "artistic" before you condone it.

I think it is brave to be so bold to say something like this... nobody can deny the troubles that our nation is facing, it's only natural to place the blame some where, I am personally not offended by this peice... that makes me no less patriotic... but 100% american.

Who says he isn't supporting the troops. He's criticising the big cheese. The troops just follow the orders of that moron. I support them. I just don't support the starting of pointless oil-hoarding wars. I can't stand that "You don't support the war, so you don't support the troops fighting" bullshit.

I have seen this and the other one with the Religion Breeds Hate slogan. Both are brilliant because both are true. National unity is a joke - patriotism was invented to make the masses swallow war (speaking as a Brit) - and the only unity that counts is the unity of the entire human race against disease, poverty, war and of course, religion.

true ..well laid out piece. check out these informative websites MoveOn.org and Misleader.org. They help expose the lies that the current administration has been feeding the American public. It's not just about the war ..it has to do with very important environmental, healthcare and education issues as well. And before anyone starts bashing me or says if you don't love America, get out. I love my country, its the current administration I have a problem with. So, I am doing what this country was founded on, voicing my opinion and trying to make a change for 2004. I love in Bush's address how he took such a stong stance against drugs and steroids. He told everyone this is a dead end street. He should have added unless you want to be President or Govenor of California. I also thought this country was founded on freedom and the right to be free of persecution, so the idea of holding up the sanctity of his idea of what a marriage should be blows my mind. Sanctity of marriage is a religious ideal. I thought we were supoosed to seperate church and state.

Here I am looking for some thing neat to put on my desktop and I run in to this, having spent most of my day downtown skateboarding and checking out anti war demonstrations . I like the composition of your work, also it's message isn't blatantly apparent as it can be interpreted differently depending on your own views.

how can you say that we should have respect for american soldures diing in the field, america doesnt send troops in first, they bomb everything to hell first and then send in troops to kill any survivors, to me that is not war, thats slaughter.

Anyway, other people's comments aside, I'm kind of confused about the "united we fall" part, but I do agree with you in that Bush is not the good guy. And...well...congratulations. I think you accomplished what you were going for (controversy.)

Poor child. I remember what it was like to be 18, and have the revelation that "who is so-and-so to tell me what is right and wrong?" You have decided there are no true right and wrong, no black and white, only shades of gray that lay open to the shape of anyones interpretation.
As you grow, you will realize that it takes a country with leaders and a moral compass to keep the world at peace, and many have died that you may sit at your computer spewing your visual tripe under that guise of art, when you havent had enough life experience to even have a cogent opinion on world events. Never has a country had so much power or used it so little. Can you even begin to imagine what this world would be like if Russia, or China had our power? Can you even contemplate the chaos that would ensue if we just left the world to its own affairs?
Your views are not avante guard, or even have a hint of originality. Perhaps someday, when reason replaces idealistic naivette, you will use your talent in a positive way. Until then, I pity you, and spit on you.

The freedom to hate America is what makes America so great. People who dislike the USA only contribute to that freedom. If everyone agreed and "united," then America as we know it--America as it was meant to be--would be no more. Nationalism is the anti-America. Now quit bitching about the spelling (which is correct, might I add) and start excersising your freedoms.

I'm a moderate republican and even I can see that what this wallpaper says is not "sick" in any way. "Show some support for our troops?" If you understood the damned wallpaper you'd know that's part of what it says. Some people, I swear. Good job.

I LOVE this! My own personal feelings about the government and the "war on terrorism" are beside the point. I love the statement. I love the in-your-face style. I love the shock value. I love the irony. I love the reactions people are having to this. The negative ones just underscore the point this piece makes. When freedom of speech only applies to people who agree with the government, "United we fall" is goddamn right.

i am continually amazed at the discussions that are opened up by controversial pieces such as this. i really like the graphic style, very striking.
upon reading all 20 someodd comments, i can now laugh my ass off. there really are some shallow people just ready tyo throw off their comments to the world. "show some american pride!" "traitor!" what are you traitorous to? has anyone ANY idea what's going on? what's keeping the frayed rope taught between the us and china? would india really start a nuclear war depending on our relations with pakistan? what did we accomplish in desert storm? did jerry bruckheimer reaaally portray what actually happened in mogadishu?
"our soldiers our over there dying" one person responded. 20 someodd soldiers have died in Afghanistan during America's terrorizing "war on terror", 8(?) in any form of combat, the rest in a helicofter accident, a vehicle accident, and one other internal cause. 12 news reporters have been killed by "Afghanistani and Pakistani rebels", as CNN calls them. in a war fought with words and television cameras, we will fall united (perhaps not as Americans but as contributers to the commonwealth of AOL/Time Warner), inane to the fact that we see only .9% of the proverbial sky (yet feel safe from an ever growing meteor shower that is the rest of the angered world).

I love how people justify supporting an unjust war, in an unjust place. Support the killing of the innocent and the violation of human rights. Sure, fall in line like the rest. This is a nice piece of work, the imagery is great. Mobilize for peace.

i dont really get it, please explain. But everbody is free to have an opinion. In war everybody is a loser. Theres not one single war yet in history that has turned out good for anybody. I don't understand how one can goto war. I don't understand how US army can get soldiers now when they toxicated their own soldiers with the most toxic metal (plutonium) (Uran 23 in the world during the Gulf war. Well somebody knows how to manulipate people. I don't understand how people can get brainwashed by muslim fantic leaders to do insane things. There I was a little diplomatic. i already expressed my views on war in the last piece...but this one is a little bit different. we will only bring ourselves down with it. it will, at some point, tear this nation apart.
