Colored pencils...
The colors are so bold and beautiful, I thought it was digital! And the little creatures are so cute and unique.

I find myself curious--how did you get such fine detail on things like the spider's web, considering that it had to remain not colored in?

The web is a lot bigger than it comes across here. It probably has a diameter of about 8 centimeters so it was not that hard to do. I basically drew it in with pencil and the colored in the the areas that needed the blue. Then I took a blade and etched out any imperfections and finally I took a really sharp white pencil and colored it in.
