The appeal to me, and that I portray in art and writing that resonates with others, is how opposite yet the same they are, which I believe makes for an interesting relationship.
On the opposites: sheβs rich and privileged, heβs not, heβs broody, she not, heβs more of a tinker and a thinker, sheβs a collector and a go getter. Heβs more responsible than her, she is more optimistic.Β
On the similarities, both are adventurers, both have daddy issues (though of different types), both take risks, both love exploring, both are angsty and rebellious in their own ways.
These similarities and differences allow them to enjoy life together, but also learn from and challenge each other.
(Also, Jim is one of the ideal fictional boyfriends. He can take you on adventures IN SPACE.)
As for Eric, I have nothing against the guy. I had a huge crush on him as a kid (for a while, all my redhead characters had black haired boyfriends), but he really canβt compare to Jim, who had a whole movie to flesh his character out. Which isnβt Ericβs fault.
My two main reasons I will always ship Jim over Eric are these: One, I like the idea of Ariel NOT with a prince. I mean, she pops in on a human party ONCE and falls in love with the only other person to match her rank? Not as interesting as falling for the cute cabin boy. Now Ariel has to learn about a humbler way of life, and her dad has 2 reasons not to like him.
Two, Ariel is, at heart, an explorer. Eric is a future king who might do some traveling, but his first priority will be expected to be his kingdom, and so will hers. Now, this would be fine if Arielβs goal in the beginning (think βPart of that Worldβ) was to marry a prince, but it wasnβt. She didnβt even mention men or love in her song. She wanted to travel, to experience. Now, who could give her that in spades? Maybe a certain spacer?
In conclusion, I think Ariel realistically (ignoring the horrid sequel, which also failed to give Eric character), would have been bored to pieces with royal life.
This is why I personally ship these two. Iβve seen other cute pairings involving these two separate from each other, and Iβve even done some fanart of them. Shippers will ship. But Jariel will always be my preference.

how do you do this?? i mean how have you been here posting and all that stuff? you know i'm new here and i don't know a fuck of drawing with the deviantart muro, i need some advice, do you know somewhere where i can get that advices? so i can guide myself into this? some youtube links whaetever, i want to learn and do crossover, i love them, and btw you're edits are awesome! bye

Thank you! I don't use deviantart muro, I use Photoshop. This seems to be a muro tutorial , though.
If you want to know how to do photo edits, I do each one differently, and if you're using muro, I can't really help you. Have you tried googling this for yourself? I don't know your range of abilities or what software you have to work with, so I can't help you much. But I hope you find what you're looking for.

oh well, i'm like really amateur for this kinda of stuff, and i've always wanted to use photoshop too, which one do you use? i mean if you could recomend me. But the thing is that i always watch youtube videos of disney crossovers and i love them i love how you all make those stories, it's kinda fun, so that's why i've started this account on deviantart, but well i'm not soo stupid, i mean i can draw on paper, watercolors, acrilic, and i do it very well on paintΒ Β so i wanted to start with this, and thank you so much btwΒ

I use an old version of Photoshop, the CS3. I don't make crossovers on youtube, though. I can't help you in that department.
