I really do love your concept here, particularly the symbolism in the two hearts. It's very fitting for this series, and you express the emotions of both characters very well! It was easy to tell this was an Avatar piece by just seeing the thumbnail, and overall you've done a great job. (Also, randomly, I love Zuko's hair and I don't know why. )

There's one thing that's bothering me a little bit- I feel like Zuko's clothing, mostly around the shoulder of the arm holding the heart, doesn't fall naturally with the body. While it seems to be fine on the front, where it crosses over, I feel like it sticks out a little far in the back. Would his shoulder blade really shift the fabric that much?

Nevertheless, beautiful work.

Well, I'm not a rabid Avatar fan, to be honest, but I actually do enjoy it on occasion, and I can say that indeed, the concept matches the show pretty well, in a sense... (I don't remember the show discussing crushes or anything, but I can say this is plausible. Then again, I probably can't pull up anything to contradict it like I can with the Zelda canon...haha, yes, I have my fandoms too.)

Furthermore, I do want to say that the conception of the hearts (i.e; how Zuko and Katara's hearts are sort of hand-made, and they both have individuality. I'm blatantly assuming that it's the reason you have a needle and thread in the background, yes?)

Let me get to some criticisms I'd like to state, though. Firstly, I'm noticing that you pretty much used a brush that's not at 100% opacity for all of the colours that aren't brown. I will state that digital brushes with lowered opacities tend to be quite useful for character shading, and other areas that require subtle shading (skylines, plants, etc etc.) However, with the background, I really wouldn't recommend that; you seemed to go for a cut out look for the background (as evidenced by the brown), and it seems lackadaisical to use a brush with a lowered opacity for the red thread. I can actually see a couple of spots where the thread sort of 'crosses over' to form an eight, where this is given away; there are two little cross-points where the shade of red is suddenly rather vibrant. A good way to get around this is to first use a 100% opacity brush, and wherever you need shading, use a slightly darker shade, and make a tiny line where you want said shade to be; it is a thread, after all.

I also want to pick up on a few anatomical notes that ~kiarar didn't comment on. First and foremostly, Zuko and Katara's necks seem to be on the rather thin side, to the point where, if they were real, I doubt they could keep their heads on straight for very long.(Especially in Zuko's case, considering how broad his shoulders are. Katara might be able to get away with it, considering that Victoria Beckham has a thin neck...but then again, she's kind of a small person who actually exists, so it's not utterly supriding.) Additionally, I would like to comment that Katara's face perspective seems wonky to me, as well; it looks like her eyes are looking in one direction, and that the top part of her head is facing on direction, but that somehow, her lip, chin, and cheek area seems to be twisted to face the viewer. Personally, I find this to be rather strange as well; her mouth should be facing Zuko as well, as it too, is parallel to her eyes. You know, sort of "facing" Zuko. I could go on, but those are my two biggest concerns, as that's actually a common mistake. (at least, in some of the art I see, anyway.)

Overall, though, I will state that I like the red and blue colour scheme you have going. I know it's rather classic, but I feel that you've incorporated it well (especially with the blue needle and red thread.) Also, I will applaud you that you did use the altered opacity brush on their clothing as well. I feel that adds more depth.

Personally, I'm not familiar with the characters, but I do like how they're portrayed. The way they're right next to each other shows a tenderness that makes me feel warm inside . However, Zuko's left hand needs work. I understand that there isn't too much room to work with, but the hand does seem a little block-like. The pointer finger has been cut off too early, and it makes it look like he's missing a joint. If you take a look [here] , you'll see that the edge of the pointer finger (I'm talking about the hand on the left) is still visible, avoiding the amputated look. Zuko's left eye is a bit small, even after factoring in perspective, but that may be due to the scar he's got. I like the needle and thread in the background (and the heart in the tread is cute! ), but I'm not sure the brown was such a good idea. Since you've left a white space around your characters, it makes them look... like an image on a sticker. Instead of brown right next to white, try fading the brown to white as it approaches your characters. It would soften the "sticker" look. The hair and clothes are done really well, so kudos for that ! What I love the most is probably the mood and message this drawing conveys; handing over your heart to someone and hoping they'll help you fix it. Great work!
