A cicada that I found today while taking my w0of for a walk.
It's an adult cicada and is dead. It has five eyes but you can't see all of them in this pic. It's times like this that I wish I had a real camera.

They can't hurt you. Their mouthparts are made for sucking sap from tree r0ots. I've read that adult cicadas don't have mouthparts, but I clearly see a proboscis on them. Maybe they do bite, I don't know.

Technically, true "bugs" are insects of the Order Hemiptera, Suborder Heteroptera. The cicada is of the Order Homoptera and is related to true bugs but is not of the same suborder.
