I understand you . I remember once I went with one of my budgies, Lluvia, the most beloved, to the vet . And two ladies saw me to caress him and how the bird wasn't afraid. And they said: What a lovely bird! He trusts his owner! And I reply: I'm not her owner! We are friends.
Spot is a lovely friend. You both are lucky to have each other.
